About Tribyu
What it was
Tribyu was a gaming platform that shared its profits with players, with modes such as Survival, Skyblock, ChampClash and Counter-Strike. It grew out of Satlantis, a Bitcoin-based Minecraft server, and was rebranded as Tribyu in February 2025. After the rebrand it ran on Luanti, an open-source engine that is separate from Minecraft.
How the rewards worked
The game borrowed ideas from Bitcoin mining. Players collected and spent in-game resources for a chance at "block rewards", paid in real satoshis from revenue the game generated.
- ASICs were in-game miners. Each one running added to a player's hashrate. At the 2025 relaunch, ASICs had to be earned in the game, not bought.
- Joules were the fuel. Players got them by playing, and an ASIC only produced hashrate while it was powered.
- The prize pool held the sats waiting to be paid out. In earlier years it was topped up with ad revenue and a share of what players spent in the game.
- Payouts came every hour. As this tracker modelled it, the pool paid out about 1/2400 of its balance per hour (roughly 1% a day), split by hashrate share: your reward = (your hashrate รท total hashrate) ร the hourly reward.
- The auction house let players trade ASICs and Joules for sats. The balance between Joule supply and ASIC consumption was a recurring topic in the community.
The end
The team announced that after three years they could no longer sustain the costs of running Tribyu and the project would close. They said they were proud of the 1.41 BTC rewarded to players. Data collection stopped when the game ended.
About this tracker
Tribyu Tracker was a community-built dashboard, made between May and August 2025. It charted the prize pool, hashrate and payouts, and included a reward calculator. This site is an archive of that data.
